Repar breaks historical records of diesel, gasoline, and asphalt production and sales in 2023
Diesel production at the Petrobras refinery in Paraná reached 5.7 billion liters, breaking the 2014 record. Gasoline production reached 3.4 billion liters, 3% more than in 2012; asphalt production reached 453 thousand tons, 0.5% more than in 2010.

The gasoline production exceeded 3.4 liters, surpassing by 3% the recorded in 2012. The total volume of gasoline sold by Petrobras, within Repar's area of influence, was the highest ever recorded, surpassing the previous mark by 4.8% in 2022. Asphalt production (CAP 50/70) reached 453 thousand tons, a 0.5% increase against 2010, the previous year's record.
Diesel production, the Petrobras plant's key product in Paraná, reached over 5.7 billion liters, 0.5% more than 2014, the previous year's record. Of this total, 2.6 billion liters are Diesel S10, outperforming by 31% the 2021 mark. It is a strategic byproduct for the Company and Brazil because it pollutes less and has a lower environmental impact. Diesel S410 sales exceeded 3.3 billion liters, surpassing the previous mark by 6.9% in 2021.
With an increased use of the refineries' installed capacity, the records result from better operations, process optimization, and production control to meet the growing demand for byproducts. "This performance was obtained due to the reliability and operational availability of the Repar assets, combined with the effectiveness of the logistical operations and market supply," explains the refinery's general manager, Felipe Gomes.
For Arnei Reginato, sector manager of commercial operations in the South Region, the higher sales volume was only possible due to the business conditions created by the company. "Petrobras boasts well-organized logistics to cater to its customers, which enables product supply, even in times of low demand."
Refining capacity and profitability
Petrobras's Industrial Process and Product director, William França, mentions Petrobras's refining capacity: "The reliability of the operations by the plants in the company's refining park combined with our teams' competence, from production planning to execution associated with the efficiency of our logistical and commercial operations, allowed to reach this high level of processing, production, and use of the refineries. The sales records confirm Petrobras's effort to invest in refining to meet commercial commitments with operational availability and reliability, always ensuring the safety of the operations."
For Petrobras's Sales, Logistics, and Market director, Claudio Shlosser, the data reinforce the company's commitment to the market: "We're contributing to our client's growth in the domestic market with competitive and safe work, always preserving profitability and financial sustainability. The results show the efficiency of our processes; we aim to be a diversified company with a domestic presence."
